  • 1 cup white or jasmine rice, rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or gluten-free tamari)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or sesame oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Cut the chicken, dice the bell pepper, chop the green onions, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until golden brown but not fully cooked through. Set aside.
  3. Sauté vegetables: In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, and bell pepper; cook until fragrant.
  4. Toast rice: Stir in rinsed rice to lightly toast for one minute.
