  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
  2. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper; add to the pan and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Pour the teriyaki sauce (soy sauce, honey, vinegar, water, ginger, garlic) over the chicken and stir to coat.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl; add to the skillet while stirring continuously until sauce thickens (about 2 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
