  • 1 large Egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter (melted, can be replaced with a dairy-free alternative)
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 mix)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • a few drops Blue gel food coloring (or alternatives like butterfly pea powder)
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup Crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • 1/2 cup Mini chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Crushed chocolate cookies
  • Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it froth for 5 minutes. Add sugar, egg, melted butter, flour, salt, vanilla extract, and food coloring; mix until combined.
  2. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes; place in a greased bowl and let rise for 60 minutes until doubled.
  3. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, crushed cookies, and mini chocolate chips.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly over it.
  5. Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into 12 equal slices.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, prepare frosting by beating cream cheese and unsalted butter; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Frost cooled rolls generously and top with extra crushed cookies or mini chocolate chips.
