Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter with white sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ground ginger, salt, ground cloves, and allspice.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture; stir until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, combine white sugar with cinnamon and additional ground ginger for coating.
  7. Roll dough into small balls, then coat in the sugar mixture before placing on a lined baking sheet.
