Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef belly
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Whisk until well mixed.
  2. Place the beef belly in a heavy-duty roasting pan and pour the marinade over it. Ensure it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the beef from the refrigerator and roast uncovered for approximately 3 hours, basting occasionally with leftover marinade.
  4. In the final 15 minutes of cooking, increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) to achieve a sticky glaze.
  5. Once finished cooking, let it rest briefly before slicing. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
