  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion, bell pepper, and celery in olive oil until soft (5-7 minutes). Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and turkey with sautéed vegetables, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a greased loaf pan. Top with half of the tomato sauce.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with the remaining tomato sauce.
