  • 15 sausage franks (chicken, beef, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 tube (13.8 ounces) pizza dough
  • 5 cups water
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick and cut into 15 strips using a pizza cutter.
  3. Wrap each strip around a sausage frank, pinching the ends to secure.
  4. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add baking soda. Boil each wrapped sausage for 20-30 seconds before transferring them to the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with kosher salt.
  6. Bake for 20-21 minutes until golden brown.
