Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 Asian pear or red apple, grated
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (optional for spice)
  • 2 tbsp honey butter (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, grated pear or apple, gochujang (if using), and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and ensure each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a grill pan or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat with neutral oil. Remove excess marinade from beef before cooking in batches for about 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized.
  4. Drizzle honey butter over cooked beef just before removing from heat to enhance flavor.
