- 1 cup Arborio rice
- 5–6 garlic cloves
- 2 cups pureed tomatoes
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt or to taste

- 1/3 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried mint
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 2 cups onion broth
- 3–4 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar

- Prepare onions by boiling them in salted water until softened, then cool and separate layers carefully.
- In a skillet, sauté chopped onion in olive oil until softened. Add grated garlic and ground beef; cook until meat is browned.
- Stir in tomato puree and Arborio rice with reserved onion broth; cook until absorbed.
- Stuff each onion layer with filling, arranging them seam-side down in a baking pan.
- Combine sauce ingredients and pour over onions; cover and bake at 400°F for about 45 minutes, then uncover and bake until caramelized.
- Serve warm, garnished with parsley.
