  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can water (use the empty soup can for measurement)
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1–2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • Dash of black pepper, garlic powder, or paprika for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, water, and uncooked instant rice until well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread evenly.
  4. Stir in any optional ingredients like frozen vegetables or shredded cheese.
  5. Place raw chicken breasts on top of the rice mixture and sprinkle with onion soup mix.
  6. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes without removing the foil.
  7. Check for doneness; chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and rice should be tender.
  8. For a golden finish, broil uncovered for an additional 3–5 minutes if desired.
  9. Allow resting for 5–10 minutes before serving.
