  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 3 potatoes
  • 0.3 lbs ground beef (or substitute with chicken or turkey)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 cubes Japanese curry roux
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions, carrots, and potatoes; cook until softened. Stir in ground beef until browned, then mix in soy sauce, ketchup, curry roux, and water. Simmer until thickened.
  2. Make the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine bread flour, cake flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add warm milk while mixing. Incorporate melted butter and one egg; knead until smooth.
  3. Shape the buns: Divide dough into equal portions and roll each piece flat. Place curry filling in the center, fold over to seal, and shape into rounds.
