  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1 large egg (for filling)
  • Additional cinnamon and sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash bananas and whisk in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until creamy.
  6. Layer half of the banana batter in the loaf pan; sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mix.
  7. Spread cream cheese filling over batter; top with remaining banana batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar.
  8. Use a knife to create swirls through the layers without overmixing.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean (a little cream cheese is acceptable).
  10. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
