Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter for the brownie batter. Stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Mix until smooth with no lumps.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, beating until fluffy. Gradually mix in all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft cookie dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout.
  4. Pour brownie batter into the lined baking dish, spreading it evenly. Take spoonfuls of cookie dough and drop them onto the brownie batter. Gently press down on the dough to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake in your preheated oven for 30–35 minutes. The edges should be set while the center remains slightly gooey.
  6. Remove from oven and allow cooling completely in the dish. Once cooled, cut into squares or desired shapes.
