Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose leaf)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type)
  • 45 fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 12 teaspoons vanilla syrup
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick, ice for iced version

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer the pitted cherries with 2 tablespoons of water over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes until soft. Mash gently with a fork.
  2. Boil 1 cup of water in another pot and steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes before removing the tea bag or straining out loose leaves.
  3. Add the milk to the softened cherries in the saucepan and stir gently until warmed through. Optionally include a cinnamon stick.
  4. Sweeten with vanilla syrup, combining well. Pour brewed tea into a mug first, then strain in the cherry-milk mixture.
  5. Serve hot or chill over ice for an iced version, garnished with a cherry or sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
