Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs flank steak (or skirt steak)
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
  • Diced onion (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)
  • Pico de gallo, salsa verde, or guacamole (for topping optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, whisk together lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover it thoroughly and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Grill the Steak: Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 5–7 minutes on each side until medium rare. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  3. Assemble Your Tacos: Warm tortillas on the grill until pliable. Slice the grilled steak into thin strips against the grain and place them on each tortilla. Top with diced onions and fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges and any desired toppings.
