  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (500 g) granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120 ml) whole milk
  • 1 cup (200 g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a bundt pan or loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into creamed mixture with milk.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan(s) and bake for 65-75 minutes (bundt) or 60-70 minutes (loaf). Check with a toothpick for doneness.
  5. Cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. For caramel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan; add brown sugar and cream until smooth. Stir in vanilla and salt.
  7. Drizzle warm caramel over cooled cake.
