  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until just mixed.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour in BBQ sauce and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble each sub by placing meatballs inside, spooning extra sauce over them, topping with cheddar cheese and breaking up turkey bacon on top.
  8. For extra melted cheese, return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
