Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 34 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together granulated sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs until smooth. Mix in the mashed bananas and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Sift in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold the mixture with a spatula until just combined; avoid overmixing. Fold in chopped walnuts.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown. Allow cooling in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  5. For the frosting: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until it turns brown; remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Whisk in half of the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. Adjust consistency by adding more powdered sugar as needed.
  6. Spread frosting generously over warm brownies before serving.
